Myrtle is is a female Burrowing Owl, or Athene cunicularia. She is the mate of Harry and mother to Kalo and Coryn (Cory), as well the grandmother of Siv and Bruno.
History
The Hatchling
Myrtle had been first seen in her burrow with Harry and Kalo tended to Gwyndor's wounds after 3 crows had mobbed him. They bickered about whether they should spend the summer in a tree, until Gwyndor woke up. He insisted he had to get to his destination immediately, thanked the family for their kindness, and left.
She is later seen again after Coryn stops by their burrow for some rest, but Coryn leaves after she believes that Coryn is Nyra and that Nyra, who was really Coryn, is going to Silverveil, where the family was planning on spending the summer.
