In Lone Wolf, the Sark was a witch-like wolf who lived by herself and concocted various potions for mothers of malcadhs. She was called upon to get coals so that the other wolf clans could kill Faolan, who they thought was rabid. She was angry at herself afterwards for not asking for more evidence that Faolan was sick.
Later, Gwynneth told her that the malcadh was murdered. The Sark wondered who could have done it and looked for a scent.
The Sark is first seen eating slough tern eggs. The eggs are buried deep in the ground, so she brings coal to make it easier to dig. Later, she thinks that she shouldn't have eaten the eggs when she smelt her recent digestive activities. The Sark then sees metallic shimmer close to the ground. Then she saw wolves, though they were blurry, so she went to another ridge where she could a better look.
The Sark was with Gwynneth and Liam MacDuncan when the earthquake happened. She was mortally wounded, but managed to make it back to her den in Slough, only to find all of her memory jugs shattered. After a memory revealing that Amber was her mother, she was found by Faolan, Edme, Myrr, and Gwynneth, but died shortly after. Later, when the wolves crossed the Crystal Plain, they saw a new constellation of a memory jug for The Sark.
